* A cow can produce more milk than a single human can consume in one lifetime – about 200,000 glasses of milk! Apart from this staggering number, you will never find two cows with the exact same spotting pattern!

* Horses weighing about 1,200 pounds eat about seven times their weight every year!

* When a lion roars, you can hear the sound from a distance of about 8 km.

* Cheetahs are quick and merciless towards their prey. The living daylights from humans and animals scare, but the sound they emit is anything but scary – more like a screaming dog. But you can hear them a mile away!

* Elephants are the largest land animals living in the present day. An elephant’s tusks grow throughout its life and can weigh as much as 200 pounds; usually tusks grow for the male species. The females are rarely found with very small tusks or no tusks at all.

* The chimpanzee is often considered the closest human being to all animal species, with an intelligence that surpasses all other animals. Chimpanzees, as they are often called, actually make tools and use them to get their food. They employ very sophisticated hunting strategies to get their food. Status is important to Chimps; they are also very manipulative and misleading in their behavioral patterns. They can be easily taught to use many symbols, numbers and some important aspects of the human language.

* The giraffe is the longest living mammal in the animal kingdom and has about double the blood pressure of any other animal to allow blood circulation, especially to the brain.

* Some interesting facts about animals are: rats live longer without water than even the camel; squirrels bury their nuts and often forget where they hid them, inadvertently helping plant millions of trees.
